Obituary

Kelly Lea Denny, aged 65, passed away peacefully of natural causes on November 3, 2025, in Rapid City, South Dakota. Born on November 30, 1960, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Kelly's life was a tapestry of kindness, creativity, and an indomitable spirit that touched everyone she knew.

A graduate of Minneapolis Community College, Kelly dedicated her working years to serving others with a warm smile as a waitress in various restaurants. Her work ethic and the genuine connections she made with people were emblematic of her caring nature. She approached her work with the same passion she gave to every aspect of her life.

Kelly is survived by her longtime partner, Mark Bergstein, who shared with her a life filled with love and laughter. She also leaves behind her brothers, Joe, Tim, and Lawrence. Kelly was preceded in death by her parents, Jim Denny and Vivian Baker, as well as her brother Michael Baker. Her extended family will forever cherish the memories of her compassionate and creative soul.

Beyond her work, Kelly was an avid reader and an artist at heart. She expressed her creativity through various media, crafting a home that reflected her artistic vision. Her love for making art was only rivaled by her love for animals. Kelly's gentle heart extended to all creatures, and she ensured that every animal she met felt her kindness.

Those who knew Kelly will remember her as the epitome of kindness—a person who brought light into the lives of others. Her creative spirit will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to witness it. As an individual who always saw the beauty in the world, Kelly lived by the words of Vincent van Gogh, "I am seeking, I am striving, I am in it with all my heart." Her passionate pursuit of life's joys was evident to all who knew her.

As we say goodbye to Kelly Lea Denny, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey filled with love, art, and the warmth of an ever-giving heart. Her spirit will forever be a beacon of light to those she has left behind. Kelly's legacy of kindness and creativity will live on in the memories of her family, friends, and all who were graced by her presence. May she rest in peace, knowing that her life was a masterpiece of her own making.

Upon her request cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
