Obituary

Rapid City, SD - Michael Lee Schwendeman passed into eternity May 2, 2022

Michael was the firstborn child of Ronnie and Loraine Schwendeman, Father to two daughters, Amber and Tony Marie and son, Patrick. He was brother to 7 siblings. Diana, Robert, Lonnie, Lora, Glenda, Colleen and Kelly.
Michael was a retired MSGT. with the United States Air Force with 22 years 9 months of service. Mike served with honor as a civil engineer and was stationed in Korea, Maine, California, Texas and South Dakota where he remained after his retirement until his passing.
Mike was an accomplished pistol and rifle marksman and enjoyed all aspects of the shooting sports. He was a member of the Black Hills Shootist Association and loved his role as “Killer McBash” in acting out train robberies for delighted tourists. Mike was an accomplished game hunter and trained many new would-be bird and deer enthusiasts.
Mike was a Life member of the National Rifle Association and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was fiercely patriotic and proudly displayed the American flag at his homestead.
Mike was always in his garage workshop working on his vehicle projects and welding, cutting, hammering and grinding between cold beers with friends and family that stopped by just to see what new projects he was cussing over!
Mike will be interred at the Black Hills National Cemetery with full military honors on May 11, 2022, at 2pm.
