Linda Jo “Ibsen” Trobee , 79 passed away in her Rapid City home on January 5, 2024. She was born August 13, 1944, in Rapid City, SD to Fred and Betty Ibsen.
As a young girl she grew up on a small ranch where she raised all the farm animals and broke horses. She and her family enjoyed many hunting and fishing trips together. Linda attended Rapid City area schools and graduated from Rapid City Central High School in 1961. She enjoyed both watching and playing basketball.
On May 12, 1964, she married Charles Franklin Trobee. They lived in Rapid City where they later welcomed a daughter Sallie Ann and a son Jody Joe. Linda lived for her animals, of which she had many. She worked at the Central States Fair in the poultry building for 30 years helping people to learn and understand chickens and pigeons.
Linda worked for Gray Line of the Black Hills and Rapid City Area School, where she drove school bus for the special needs students for 30 years. She enjoyed the challenges of this job and the young people she met.
Linda did not want a big service for her passing and wished to be cremated. A family service will be held on her birthday August 13, 2024, in Rapid City. Honorary Urnbearers will be her son Jody Joe Trobee, son in law Terry Lynn Schmidt, nephews Don Anschultz and Patrick Bryan, and good friends Clayton Baysinger and Ken Wright.
Linda was proceded in death by her parents Fred and Betty, sisters Dorthy and Marie, brother Arthur, many aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins.
