Obituary
Chris Barrera, 28, was born on August 17, 1994 in Kenansville, NC and passed away Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Monument Health in Rapid City, SD.
Chris was preceded in death by his grandfathers Glenn Pope and Paul Staton, uncle Johnny Sanborn and nephew, Malakai. Chris leaves behind his parents Crystal Barrera and Timmy Murdock, his father Gilberto Santillan; children Saydie, Kayden and Olivia;siblings Cristina, Morgan, Logan and Samantha;grandmothers Barbara Staton and Margeaux Pope; aunt Dr. Glenda Ogden, uncles Thomas Pope and Michael Martinez; cousins he grew up with Paula, Kelly and Evelyn; along with several other cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.
To say that Chris was loved by all would be stating the obvious; and to say that Chris loved his family would be an understatement. There was nothing he held closer to his heart than the ones he loved, especially his 3 children. Chris will remain in our memories, just as he lived; young, wild and free. Your loved ones will forever miss you.
No memorial has been scheduled at this time. A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date back in his home state of North Carolina.
