Brit Jones Obituary

Brit Jones, 32, of San Antonio, TX and formerly of Camp Crook, SD, passed away
unexpectedly in the early morning hours of August 11, 2022.

Brit Jones was born on January 14, 1990 in Rapid City, SD to Lori (Henning) Stahl
and Reuben Jones III. The moment he was born, he stole the hearts of many but
none more so than his “Poppa” John Catron and “Nana” Carol Catron. He was the
light of their world and the apple of their eyes!

Brit attended and graduated in 2008 from Central High School in Rapid City, SD.
After graduation, Brit attended Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, SD and
graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice in 2012. Right out of college, Brit went
to work in the oilfields in North Dakota. In early 2015, when he got laid off in
North Dakota, he went to the oilfields in Texas where he stayed and made his
home. While in Texas, he married his High School sweetheart, Lindsay Rutter on
February 8, 2016. They divorced the following year but remained friends. Brit was
actively living and working in the oilfields of Texas at the time of his passing.

It takes a village to raise a child. Brit had more than a village. He had two parents
who loved him beyond measure, grandparents who spoiled him rotten and took
him with them wherever they went, which is when he acquired his love of
travelling, and a very special aunt (Cheryl) who loved him and cared for him as if
he were her own child. All of the friends and community members who loved and
spoiled him also contributed to the wonderful, kind and loving young man he
became. Brit enriched our lives and it has been an absolute honor to have shared
the short life of the best Son, Brother, Nephew and Friend you could have ever
asked for. His contagious laugh, smile and beautiful, loving, empathetic heart and
soul shined as bright as the sun. He worked hard and played hard but never
missed the opportunity to help out any one at any time. Brit was the most
generous and loyal soul on the planet, especially to his family, friends and people
who needed help. Brit could have anyone anywhere laughing until their stomachs
hurt at any given time. He was truly the best of the best.

Brit’s passion was playing football from grade school through college and then he
went on to play semi-pro football in Minnesota for a couple years. You could find
him sporting the numbers #72, #54 and #31 (that was Poppa John’s football
number so Brit wanted it too) on every football field he played on. Brit also
enjoyed buying, trading and teaching people about Crypto Currency, making and
posting videos on social media, taking bubble baths, spending time at the ranch in
Camp Crook and listening to music, especially his favorite song “Neon Moon” by
Brooks & Dunn. He also loved to travel and go on wild adventures with his friends,
including a trip to “Camp No Counselors”, the Dominican Republic and Mexico.
Brit was always up for a grand adventure and was always the life of the party.
Every place he went, he made lifelong friends. He genuinely loved people with all
his heart. Brit had a special love for Lane Frost, Stone Cold Steve Austin 3:16 and
Nicholas Cage as Cameron Poe (Con Air).

Brit is survived by his mother Lori (Chad Moser) Stahl of Winner, SD and
