Steven Kendall Obituary
Steven Lee Kendall, 72 of Rapid City, died December 13, 2025 at Monument Health in Rapid City.
Steven Lee Kendall, a cherished husband, father, brother, and grandfather, returned to his heavenly home on December 13, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on August 26, 1953, in Rapid City, South Dakota, to Ramsey and Ardeth Kendall, Steven's life was a testament to the values of love, kindness, and selflessness that he held dear. His journey on earth may have concluded in the same state where it began, but his legacy stretches far beyond its borders.
Steven was a proud graduate of Philip High School, where he formed many lifelong friendships and laid the foundations for a life of hard work and dedication. He dedicated over two decades of his life to the Coca-Cola Company as a trusted and reliable truck driver, and later, he served the community through his work at Menards. His work ethic was unparalleled, and his cheerful presence was a source of comfort and camaraderie to his colleagues.
A devout Christian, Steven embodied the spirit of his faith in every aspect of his life. He found solace and strength in the beauty of nature, seeing the hand of God in the whispering trees and the sprawling landscapes of South Dakota. His love for the outdoors was only surpassed by his love for his family and friends, with whom he spent countless hours, creating memories that would last several lifetimes.
Steven's memory will be held in the hearts of his beloved wife, Amanda Kendall, and his son, Michael (Natasha Lambert) Kendall, who together gave him the precious gift of his grandson, Leon Kendall-Lambert. His sisters, Karen Hanson and Rebecca Kendall, his sister-in-law, Donna Kendall, and his numerous nieces and nephews will miss his unwavering support at their sporting events, and his infectious enthusiasm for life. Though preceded in death by his parents and his brother Douglas, the family finds comfort in knowing that Steven is reunited with them in eternal peace.
An avid sports fan, Steven's voice was often heard cheering from the stands, whether at a professional hockey game or a local baseball match, especially when his younger relatives were on the field. His support was a beacon of encouragement, inspiring all who knew him to strive for their best.
In describing Steven, one would be remiss not to recall the words of St. Francis of Assisi, "For it is in giving that we receive." Steven lived by this principle, giving generously of his time, his energy, and his love, enriching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Steven Lee Kendall's journey on earth was marked by the love he gave and the faith he shared. As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate a life well-lived, a life that continues to resonate in the love and the laughter he left behind. We take solace in the belief that he has found eternal rest in the arms of his Creator, and we look forward to the day we shall meet again.
Upon his request, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
